Counseling for Disordered Eating, Body Image, and Worthiness Wounds

Grace and compassion for the striving, hurting, and vulnerable within.

Hi there! I’m Allison.

Whether you’re sick and tired of hustling for self-worth (e.g., through perfectionism, people pleasing), fighting with food, or hating your body, you’re not alone.

I spent over a decade trying to fit the mold of “good enough,” be it through changing my body, performance, or personality. Now, I’m committed to helping you climb out of your own “pit of despair” (The Princess Bride, anyone?) and reclaim your time, energy, and peace so you can live with greater freedom and purpose.

My clients have ditched the rulebook of “shoulds” and heavy expectations.

Many are now setting boundaries, eating without guilt, giving themselves grace… Wild things that you can do too — especially as you begin offering compassion to the different parts of you. Read on for some areas we could work through together.

Spotlight Areas/Specialties

Woman eating pizza alone and engaging in disordered eating behaviors

Your life seems to revolve around avoiding food, overeating, or both. It’s a painful cycle of fleeting victories and paying penance to the scale god for yet another diet “failure. Therapy can help you reclaim your life from disordered eating, whether it’s a clinical eating disorder or unhelpful pattern.

It’s so hard to say no or ask for what you need without feeling rude or selfish. But always prioritizing others’ approval has left you exhausted—and sometimes resentful. You can still care deeply for others while honoring yourself! Let’s work together to find that balance.

Whether it’s a recent body change or a lifetime of being told your body is “wrong,” you can’t help thinking you’d be happier if you just looked different. What if you could stop fighting with your body and find peace in who you are now? Professional support can help you get there.

It’s all or nothing—you’re either putting things off or grinding yourself down to get things just right. One area of your life is pristine while another feels shameful. Perfectionism doesn’t have to control you; with practice, self-compassion and flexibility can lighten the pressure.

Other problems I commonly help with include:

  • Anxiety (worrying, social anxiety, panic attacks)

  • Depression and feelings of numbness or heaviness

  • Low self-worth (persistent “not good enough” messages inside)

  • Relationship issues (with friends, family members, partners, or coworkers)

  • Lingering impact of painful or traumatic experiences

  • Work and school stress and burnout

  • Obsessive-compulsive patterns
